The Air Jordan III, one of the all time classics, is making its third appearance in 2013. With Tinker Hatfield at the helm of the original design team, Nike was making innovative moves when the III’s were first introduced.
The iconic Jumpman replaced the Jordan Wings logo, evident on the first two signatures. High-tops were the basketball norm, but Tinker decided to go with a mid level sneaker, a first of its kind. The III’s also incorporated a Nike Air unit for extra comfort.
Materials used to construct the Jordan III were evidence of the direction Nike was taking the sneaker game. Premium tumbled leather combined with faux elephant skin made up the majority of the shoe.
The Jordan III Crimson combines a premium black leather upper with crimson accents. Dark purple elephant print on the toe cap and heel finish off these Jordans.
