The homie @Cristyle of the JABBAWOCKEEZ and Full Force Crew just released a little freestyle video where he absolutely kills it! Cris shows you how to do it from the dojo to the battlefield. See if you can keep up…
I’m back from my travels! Here’s another edition of World of Dance: Vancouver, Canada.
Headlined by Poreotics, Mos Wanted Crew, and celebrity dance judges like Steve Bolton and Teya Wild from So You Think You Can Dance, WOD once again brought down the house in Van City. The dance community here is rapidly growing here by the second and hundreds of people filled the Massey Theatre to watch.
I went to Hip Hop International about a few weeks back in Las Vegas, which is one of the largest annual dance competitions in the world. People from Japan, Denmark, Philippines, New Zealand, Trinidad and Tobago, Europe, Singapore (you name it!) make their way to the U.S. to compete for the Gold title.
This recap of the Hip Hop International finale was shot and edited by a very talented friend of mine, Andrew Rose, via Pacific Rim Video Press. He really did justice on this video. I’m not that type of person to put a video on repeat and repeat, but I can definitely say I’ve watched it more than twice.
We landed in Denver and drove 2 hours up to Vail, nestled high up in the Colorado Mountains for the Annual Vail International Dance Festival, The festival brings out the best dancers from So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing with the Stars, and MTV’s ABDC. It was a much needed break from the blazing weather here in So Cal. Makes me want to go back!
We joined my friends from ABDC Season 7′s Funkdation Crew all the way from Mexico for buffalo burgers, other good eats, good drinks, and dance. We first started off the day with community outreach with the Vail Foundation and made our way around town.
So inspiring when the kids start getting up and taking over the dance floor
I could only imagine these slopes in the winter
Lions Den (ie. better version of California Adventure), where you could eat, shop, play mini golf, and ride up the gondola
My friend, Calvin Leung, is the director of this feature documentary film, “Furious Beauty,” with Versa-Style, a professional Hip Hop dance company based in LA. We met a few years back at a spot that dancers go to called Homeland in the LBC. I think we battled of some sort and we’ve been friends ever since.
In lieu of independent passion projects taking the internet by storm, he started a Kickstarter Campaign to fund the film and hire a composer. It’s not your average ABDC, YouTube, cheesy 80′s Hip Hop dance film. Check out the trailer for watchability points and when you get a chance, stop by the campaign page and donate!
