I was recently invited by the American Marketing Association at Cal State Fullerton to be a guest speaker. The topic was branding and although I may not be the best person to speak on the subject I offered my insight, advice and how I think how a person and business should be branded. To be honest, I expected only a handful of students to show up. So when I walked into the room of over 60, I was blown away. A humbling moment to say the least.
This was also special day for me for another reason. While I was in law school, I interned for famed sports agent Leigh Steinberg and used to book him for speaking engagements at colleges all over the country. I only dreamed of the day that I would have some kind of knowledge to share with someone else, making this experience that much more memorable. I met a lot of ambitious students who I am confident will be achieving great things this industry and others in the upcoming years.
Check out the pics from the “Build Your Brand” and stay tuned as I’ll be building with AMA in the upcoming months!
Big thanks to Michael C. for arranging everything and being a great moderator
I’ve spoke in front of judges in a courtroom (as a lawyer), but this was quite something else
I was impressed with how many students were taking notes
CAREER TIP: Use every opportunity to network!
